IKEA is a dangerous place. Compared to other stores, everything looks so inexpensive, the furniture, the decor, the mattresses and even plants. Now that I live just 30 minutes from IKEA, I sometimes find myself just wandering around looking for inspiration or ideas. Although, I usually end up walking out with something I’ve purchased! That clearance section on the bottom floor always gets me!
Here are some finds from my last trip. I didn’t buy many of them, in fact, I had a cart full of things, and ended up giving most of them up for a chair that I fell in love with in the clearance section. And it was CLEARANCE (we all love a good clearance find) so how could I pass it up!? But, I will probably be making a trip again soon, and I can guarantee some of the following things will be in my cart!
Ughhh IKEA plants. I have such an obsession. I love fake plants because they are great to put up high in the house, or places where people won’t get super close to them and notice that they are fake. They are also good for rooms that you don’t use all the time. I have a really hard time keeping plants alive, so IKEA plants always come to the rescue. They definitely have their place and need to be used in moderation, but their plants are getting harder and harder to resist! Here are some of my favorites!
Odds and Ends
I’m definitely seeing the geometric theme show up everywhere lately, and I’m really into it! I love throwing different shapes and textures into a space and these geometric shapes really help to add interest to a room! I really love those wall hooks for a bedroom or guest room. They are so simple, but also very different from what I’m used to seeing! I also really like the colors of the blue and gold lamp shade and the pattern on it! The big version would look so pretty above a dining room table!
Oh, and here is the chair that I bought at a discount in the clearance section. I LOVE it, and really like how it is a different texture than the other furniture I have in the house. I used to have a rocking chair in this space, but no one ever sat in it because it would lean back to far (picture people sitting in it and their legs flying up when they think they are going to fall back… yeah) People sit in this chair much more. Hey, maybe it’s because of that bear in a sweater pillow :-)!
I always need more seating in my house, because when I invite people over, I tend to invite way more people than I should for my small house. We always have a great time all squeezed together, but quite a few people usually end up sitting on the floor. I’ve considered picking up a few of these at Ikea, just because they are easy to store to the side when it’s just Bryan and me, but also convenient for when guests are over.
That’s all for now! There are a lot of other things I love at IKEA but for today, I’ll leave you with these! What are you into at IKEA lately? Have you found anything good in the clearance section?
